Hello Magpie made it to Etsy's blog The Storque!

{that's my shop! on the storque! yayayay!}

Let the gush-fest begin..!

So you can imagine the happy, yet confused surprise when I checked out the Hello Magpie stats on Craftopolis today...and saw 315 visits to my Etsy page at around noon. After a little investigation I learned that, lo and behold...my Mini Clothesline Kit was selected to be showcased in Etsy's fantabulous blog The Storque's Etsy Finds Spotlight article called "A Place For Everything" -- *squee*

Now, at 10 o'clock in the evening, my Etsy store has had 1,168 visits (and counting...) and more sales in one day than I've ever had! A HUGE THANK YOU to Etsy and author Emily Bidwell for including me in such an amazing article -- seriously, this is one of the best Etsy Finds articles I've ever read (and I swear it's not because my shop is in it.) I love every, single one of the items listed and hearted many new favorite shops and items. I suggest you check it out. I know you'll discover lots of new favorites!

Best. Day. Ever.

Self-Discovery and My Path to Living Creatively...Today at Scoutie Girl

{follow the wind by Naoko Kumano}
You'll find me elsewhere today...guest posting on Scoutie Girl my personal take on what it means to live creatively. I do hope you'll pop over and give it a read. I'd love (as would the entire SG community) to know  what you think & share what it means to you to love creatively. Does it mean thinking out of the box? Consuming less? Connecting with community? Challenging the status quo? I'm all ears.

Until then, keep it real + keep it creative.
xo,
Eve

Today at Scoutie Girl: Pulling it Together, Cosmo Style.

Head on over to Scoutie Girl to take a peep at my very last look in the Spring 2010 Fashion Preview. It's a sassy one!

With that said, now that I'm wrapping up my Blogger in Residence over at Scoutie Girl, it has me thinking of what I'll be doing next. I've been crazy busy lately, with some tweaks to the blog layout and functionality and doing behind-the-scenes brainstorming to make sure I'm keeping you all interested! In the very near future, I'll be posting a simple survey and I would be super appreciative if you'd participate. It's going to help me get a pulse on you lovely readers. If you can believe it, it's been over a year since my first post and I've never had a reader survey...I figured it was about time!
P.S. With all the snow here in Ohio, my DIY project list is getting bigger and bigger! Take a look at these DIY treasures: the burlap wreath and this darling elastic waist skirt.** Aren't they great? I can't wait to get it going on my own versions. How about you? What have you been up to lately?

**  edit: Sorry I didn't make this more clear before, but the two awesome projects shown above I, alas, cannot claim. These are done by the very talented Jennifer of Where the Heart Is and Susan at Freshly Picked! DEF. check out their blogs. They're FULL of amazing tutorials!! **

Confirmation that I Kick @ss.

Featured in Alltop
I'm so excited to share this news with you -- oh my word! is now featured on Alltop!

/happydance

If you're not sure what Alltop is, definitely check it out. It acts like an aggregate for all the top news and blogs in any given category, much like an online magazine rack. "In a nutshell, Alltop is an information filter to help you find your nuggets of gold." (oh my word, someone thinks I'm GOLD!) Sarah Perez at ReadWriteWeb does a better job of explaining why Alltop rocks than I ever could, so I highly suggest reading up. Though Alltop isn't the super communications tool for everyone, it's not worth discounting. Not everyone subscribes to RSS feeds or is comfortable with a feed reader, which is why I'm so excited to be part of Alltop. I like options and providing options to you guys is never a bad thing. I hope you'll give it a gander -- let me know what you think!

P.S. Want quick access to some great craft articles? Take a look at the Alltop widget (scroll, it's on the left). It will link you to some of the top articles in the craft category on Alltop. Fun!

Working It "9 to 5" at Scoutie Girl

Today over at Scoutie Girl, I'm sharing another of my favorite looks for Spring 2010. I hope you'll give it a gander and let me know what you think! It's all about workin' those 9 to 5 weekdays and doing it in style. Move over stuffy pantsuit, a new girl's in town and she's not afraid to mix things up!

"Market Day" over at Scoutie Girl

Hey guys! The second of my looks in the Spring 2010 Fashion Preview is up over at Scoutie Girl , so I hope you'll check it out. It's called "Market Day" and is all about going green -- and I don't mean the color. Eco-friendly fabrics in comfy layers...this is definitely one of my favorite fashion statements!

What green trends are you digging right now?

Spring Fashion Preview #1 at Scoutie Girl

Just in case you're wondering where today's post is...you'll have to cruise on over to Scoutie Girl sometime today to read it (not exactly sure what time it will post, so keep checking!) It's my very first post of four, as part of the blogger in residence program. (In case you missed yesterday's post, check it out for a link to my intro & more info on the program itself.)

It's amazing to be involved with the SG community and welcome in a few new readers to oh my word! while I'm at it. Scoutie Girl is all about the power of independence, creation and handmade -- all things I fiercely support. The power is, literally, in our own hands to shape our planet, economy and future. So, if you're down for some fashion with passion, pop over today for a read and let me know what you think!

Yippee, it's ME on Scoutie Girl!

Guess who is part of the brand-spanking-new "blogger in residence" program over at Scoutie Girl? You guessed it...little ol' me! How amazing is that? Tara wrote up a really nice introduction for me to her readers -- be sure to check it out and maybe leave some comment love, too :)

While guest starring over at SG these next two weeks, not only will I be sharing some amazing, heartable things with her readers, but Tara is going to brainstorm with me on ways to make oh my word! cooler than cool. To say I'm excited really doesn't do it justice. Scoutie Girl is one of those blogs for me that I look to for daily inspiration, motivation and encouragement. Tara has been blogging for years and has developed a keen eye for what works and what could be improved. Her feedback will be tremendously valuable as I move OMW! into 2010. Thank you for having me, Tara!

 The Scoutie Girl "blogger in residence" program is all about encouraging and supporting emerging bloggers and providing an outlet within her strong blogging community to share their perspective and gain exposure for their own endeavors. If this sounds like something that you'd be interested in becoming part of, please email Tara to find out more!
